It's been a while since my last post. Mostly because life is back to normal. I still cannot do a handstand push-up, but... Who cares?
I am disappointed in my ability to extend my wrist but it is important to remember every injury is different and mine was pretty severe compared to others that I've spoken with. Plus, due to changing jobs and healthcare issues I simply have not had the money to continue physical therapy. Maybe I will be able to once I start my new job in New Zealand.
Today I repeated the workout from the 2014 Crossfit Open, 14.5 as the last workout in the 2016 Open. I did not signup this year but did all but one of the WODs. I just have different priorities this year and am having more fun coaching than participating.
All that being said - I was pretty determined to beat my score from 2014. I did by 37 seconds, so am pretty happy. Maybe in my recovery I have gained some metabolic potential or maybe I am just mentally stronger. Either way I will be having a delicious microbrew or two tonight to celebrate the last 9 months of progress.
Thank you everyone who has supported me.
Also, thank you for those with the same injury that share the same struggles, but continue to overcome them in their own way. Keep in touch on your progress too!
